Michael Tustin
Town Council

Michael Tustin was born and raised in Windsor CT.  Michael is a product of the Windsor Public School System where he graduated from Windsor High School in 1996.  After High School Michael attended Westfield State University in Westfield Massachusetts's and graduated in 2000 with a BS in Criminal Justice.  Michael has been employed with the Town of Windsor for the last 20 years and is currently a K9 handler for the Town of Windsor PD.  Michael resides in Windsor with his wife Shawna, daughters Shaela and Adeline and son Zachary.

His father was also born and raised in Windsor and worked in the Aero Space industry on Day Hill Road until his passing in 2005.  Michael's mother recently retired from the Windsor Public School system as an administrative assistant at Windsor High School with 30 years of service.  Michael's two siblings also reside in Town.
Michael has been able to foster important relationships with residents, community groups and Windsor based business's through his current profession.  These developed relationships has opened up a stronger line of communication and its important to listen and address the concerns voiced.

Michael believes that communication between Town Council members and the community is very important.  By listening to residents, we can foster a stronger relationship between elected officials and improve responsible spending of our tax dollars.  This has never been more important that today given the State of CT fiscal crisis.  It is important for citizens to be involved and informed of the issues they address.  As a elected official, those concerns and problems brought forward by citizens need to be addressed in a effective and expedited manner.

We need to protect our investments within the Town and continue to expand our business base as well as preserve our open space.  Its important to move forward but also protect our small Town charm.  Putting more of your tax dollar in your pocket and continuing to streamline and develop responsible spending for the future.
