Maxine Davis
Board of Education |
Born in Jamaica, W.I., and a proud resident of Windsor for over 30 years, Maxine is a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and Registered Nurse with over 25 years of experience in both public and private school settings. Her professional journey began in hospital care, but her passion for education and student wellness led her to the school system, where she has worked to support students’ academic and personal well-being.
A graduate of the University of Hartford and Capital Community College, she brings a deep understanding of health, education, and community development. In addition to her professional work, she plays an active role in supporting her husband’s successful small business in the trucking industry, demonstrating her commitment to family, entrepreneurship, and teamwork. Maxine has always believed in the transformative power of education, and now feels it is the right time to step forward and serve the Windsor community on the Board of Education. Her goal is to strengthen the connection between comprehensive health, student well-being, and academic success. She is especially passionate about:
Her commitment to civic engagement includes past service on the Riverfront Recapture Community Advisory Board, involvement with the CT Historical Society and the West Indian Independence Celebration Committee, and cultural work with the Taste of the Caribbean Arts and Culture CT, Inc. She also has a background in media through work on both radio and television. When she’s not serving her community, you can find her enjoying music, reading, swimming, or spending cherished time with family and friends. Maxine is eager to contribute her energy, experience, and love for Windsor to help ensure every child receives a high-quality, holistic education. It is critical that our students are taught at an early age, and overtime, become accustomed to being academically challenged with confidence. The goal is to have our students be intellectually equipped to positively impact humanity, and lead fulfilling lives. This can only be achieved in partnership with our parents, students, teachers, all levels of Windsor's Educational Administrators and community partners. |
