Meet the Team
This was posted on the Windsor Republicans Facebook page and has garnered a fair about of discussion, plus our picture of one of our signs.
There are statements being made that might confuse voters.
Voters should always ask for proof. Attached is a spreadsheet showing all our grants from an article in the CT Mirror newspaper. Based upon this information which we believe is factual and accurate Windsor will get 100% of its State Aid and Grants it received in FY'17. Sources include the article, and the disagreement among some about the numbers. At the end of the day, it is what Windsor gets, and that is 100% of our State funding.
We just received a report from Representative Scott Storms. He says he cannot determine the impact of the Renters Rebate Program, or the Elderly/Disabled Circuit Breaker (budget language). However the items in the FY18 budget as you see below do not equal close to the amounts mentioned by Don Trinks in his Windsor Journal article, or Al Simon in his various comments on Facebook that indicated amounts from $750K to almost $1MM (misleading numbers I would think). I received the below document that I am posting for your information. It is not materially different ($202K vs $265K) than the information I posted a day or two ago on Facebook -- see below.

Tomorrow (11/7) the Windsor voters have a choice. They can elect the candidates on Row B, and change the direction of Windsor from the tax, spend, and borrow approach of the majority party of the past 20+ years. To the Leadership Windsor Needs, and the Voice you Deserve.
The majority party raised your taxes 3% outside the referendum process, which as I indicated elsewhere here was unnecessary. Add to that the additional $1MM in taxes they collected, which will not be refunded to you, and that is just two reasons to vote for a change. The amount that actually was needed was about 2% and not 3%. [Check out our facebook page for more information https://www.facebook.com/WindsorRepublicans/ ]
Even a retiring tax raising Councilor said another alternative could have been used, to avoid raising your taxes. He along with his colleagues chose to do the ‘difficult’ thing and raise your taxes. Interestingly he is begging for your support for his team by promising no more increases, yet he will not be a Councilor after the election as he is retiring, so it is the same as your neighbor making that comment.
We hear regularly that seniors and those on a fixed income love Windsor, but are finding it more difficult to stay in Windsor. The complaint is taxes are going up faster than their fixed or limited incomes. We all know neighbors on a fixed income. Connecticut is already one of the most expensive states in the U.S. to live in, but we do not need to make Windsor one of the most expensive towns in CT to live in. It is time to change leadership. Please Vote Row B the Leadership Windsor Needs, and the Voice you Deserve.
Please vote for Lenworth Walker, Michael Tustin, Donald Jepsen, Kenny Wilkos, and James Govoni.
For Board of Education please vote for Jeremy Halek, Ronald Eleveld, Brian Bosch, Paul Panos, and Jim Ristas.
For Constable Charles Windsor Jackson, III, and David Gillette.
.
The campaign season is starting.
Step 1 is fundraising.

Step 2 is to change the majority on the Town Council and Board of Education.
The current majority seems to believe in raising taxes first and not reduce spending in these difficult times.
Can you afford more tax increases? It is time for change for the Future of Windsor.
